InterVarsity has been reaching South Florida’s colleges and universities for over twenty years, thriving as one of the largest campus ministries in our community. Our staff-supported, student-led ministry has produced hundreds of leaders who now serve in the local Church. With a fully-funded staff team, we will be able to broaden our impact in our community as we bring the Gospel to its student population.

Campus Ministries

We are working at 8 campuses, including:

Broward Community College - North, Central, South
Florida Atlantic University
Florida International University
Miami-Dade College, Kendall
Nova Southeastern University
University of Miami

Involvement on these campuses:

Staff - 3: 1 in Broward, 2 in Miami-Dade
Students - 125-130
Bible Studies - 12
Prayer Meetings - 5
Leadership Training Conferences - 3
Student Missions Projects - 4, including Tajikistan, Mexico City, Guatemala and inner-city Tampa

Need

There are almost 300,000 students in Broward and Dade counties. In these formative years students’ values are being shaped as they reconsider everything they believe. Without a voice for Jesus Christ on campus, Christians often abandon their faith and non-Christians never hear that they matter to God and that Jesus offers them life and meaning, especially in these years when they are looking to define who they are. There are few missionary fronts in North America where the gospel is so needed and yet so absent. We want to be that voice on campus.

Vision

With the support of the community we are looking to grow in the next three years by:

Hiring 1 new staff to minister at the BCC campuses
Hiring 2 new staff to partner with current staff in Miami
Pioneering a new chapter at Miami-Dade College-Wolfson, a largely un-reached campus
Hiring 1 staff for international student ministry
